We were excited to host our first virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday May 25.
Thank you to Counsellor Chad Collins, Service Managers, Board of Directors, speakers, partners, clients and staff for attending!
We are pleased to share that Krish Vadivale was re-appointed as Board Chair for Victoria Park Community Homes (VPCH), and we welcome Rosemary Martin and Fay Yachetti as our newly appointed Board Members.
We also want to thank our out-going Board Members once again; Steve Holman, Ugo Filice, Jessica Mestre-Monteiro, Deborah Filice and Mo Al-Halimi. Thank you for your contributions and we appreciate the time you have invested in VPCH.
AGM Event
The AGM started with a slideshow updating our current developments at 150 Bronte Street in Milton and 60 Caledon Avenue in Hamilton (a project by Caledon Community Collaborative, a partnership between Victoria Park Community Homes and Hamilton East Kiwanis Non-Profit Homes).
Our CEO Lori-Anne Gagne gave the welcoming remarks, followed by our Service Manager address by Cindy Dufault from Region of Waterloo, Jayne Hartley from Halton Region, and Elizabeth Storti from Region of Peel. We are fortunate to have such good working relations with our various Service Managers.
Tom Hunter and Sean Botham from CityHousing Hamilton gave a very informative keynote address on their strategic renewal and redevelopment of CityHousing Hamilton’s portfolio, the first phase of which includes four new builds and one high-rise retrofit; all to the Passive House standard.
The evening ended off with our COO Charlene Thornhill presenting VPCH’s 2020 Annual Report, followed by staff recognition by our CFO Veronica Fowler.
We thank everyone that attended the event. We hope this will be our first AND last virtual AGM, and we are optimistically hopeful that we can see everyone in person next year for our 2022 Annual General Meeting.
