Victoria Park Community Homes Inc., Ontario’s largest private, non-profit housing corporation, is committed to providing stable, quality, affordable homes in Hamilton, Brantford, Cambridge, Guelph, Kitchener, Waterloo, and the Regions of Halton and Peel.

The volunteer Board of Directors, which is responsible for the governance of the corporation, is seeking new Committee members to sit on our Human Resource, Audit, Finance and Property & Tenant Relations Committees.

Candidates will have a strong sense of volunteerism, and play a leadership role in the communities we serve, and may demonstrate significant knowledge and experience in, but not limited to, the areas of:

  • Law
  • Social justice
  • Construction
  • Project management
  • Social and community services and/or
  • Affordable housing

Victoria Park Community Homes Inc. serves a diverse client base and welcomes candidates that reflect our clientele.

Committee members are eligible to remain on a committee for one year, after which time they may apply to be a Director, remain on the committee, or resign.

Working collaboratively with the Management Team, the Committees are actively involved in setting strategic priorities and goals based on the vision and mission  of the organization.

Committee meetings are generally held once a month at our head office in Hamilton with an option for electronic participation. During the pandemic, the meetings have been held using Zoom. Meetings are less frequent during the summer months.
